Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the leadership of the PDP New Generation group in Ogun state, through its Coordinator, Architect Sodeinde Daniel has condemned what he described as 'poor leadership' by the current serving governor of the State, Dapo Abiodun.
Architect Daniel stated this on Thursday at Alake Palace, during the event of public declaration of the PDP governorship aspirant, Hon. Jimi Lawal, where he also called on all party members, leaders and stakeholders to ensure transparency and level playing ground amongst all the aspirants vying for political offices in the state.
Daniel described governor Abiodun as "incompetent", adding that - for no justifiable reason, the governor has abandoned the construction and completion of some major roads in Abeokuta, the state capital, thereby, causing accidents and cutting short the lives of innoccent users.
The group Coordinator further warned that the people would no longer tolerate an imposition of incompetent and unqualified persons as representatives comes 2023, stating that - "it is time for an election devoid of blood-letting, violence, rancour, arson, sentiment and godfatherism, as PDP is ready to take over power from APC's misrule".
The statement reads - "we have witnessed the poor leadership of governor Dapo Abiodun APC led administration and we cannot afford to have a repeat of such in 2023 because, we now have more than capable hands in PDP".
"We all can see how the current governor for no justifiable reasons, abandoned all our major roads in Abeokuta, the roads that have direct impact to the economy of the state have now turned to death traps, causing fatal accidents, killings innocent users and affecting marketers, motorists, traders, travellers and transporters", Daniel said.
The Youth Advocate also enjoins all party members and leaders in the State to uphold the peace and unity being currently enjoyed in Ogun PDP, and give more rooms for youths' inclusiveness in the structure of the party for further progress.
The Youth leader further emphasized on the aims and objectives of the group to support all the activities of PDP in the state without leaving any of its members behind.
"Our main objective and ideology is to support the program of the Party, to mobilise more and new people into the party, to advocate for peace and unity, to lead the people aright and to take good charge of the party in the nearest future", the Coordinator concluded.
