The Executive Chairman Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. 'Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo on Thursday 28th November, 2024 launched Healthcare Initiative Scheme for elders kick-started with 250 aged people in the Local Government Area.
Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo made it known that the Healthcare Initiative scheme is aimed at improving the quality of live for senior citizens in the Council Area by providing medical support systems that will help them age independently and with dignity.
He further stated that the Healthcare initiative programm will last for A-Year while in the subsequence, others would be enrolled reiterated that the programme targets Two Thousand (2000) aged, who are to be enrolled in the programme and was established to add value to the lives of the elderly people and to teach them how to live a fulfilling life, free from health challenges, neglect and isolation.
In a separate contributions, Dr. Afolabi Dosunmu, Dr. Ogungbe, OGSHC and Dr. Oladipupo Afonja all appreciated the Executive Chairman for the quick earnest of the programme ensured to elderly ones in the LGA, explained to beneficiaries not to only keep the NHIS Card that will be issued to them but to also make use of it for their routines which is for the timely medical checkup. In the same vein, the Head of the Local Government Administration, Mrs. Kikelomo Munirat Ajayi (HOLGA) thanked all the aged present at the Healthcare Initiative scheme that they should heed to the advice given to them on their health system.
Hon. Egbeyemi added that the Executive Chairman, Hon. Oyegbola-Sodipo bankrolled the first 250 aged Healthcare Initiative in the LGA.
