THE MAN ADEWALE BAMIRO; CELEBRATING A GOOD BOSS, WORTHY MENTOR, AND SELFLESS BENEFACTOR



"Seest thou a man diligent in his business, he shall stand before Kings; he shall not stand before mean men" Proverbs 22;29

The scripture above aptly describes the person of Mr. BAMIRO Adewale Olujide Adesoye, the Head of Local Government Administration, Sagamu Local Government, who formally retires on the 6th of May, 2021, after serving meritoriously for 35 years in the local government service of Ogun State.

A diligent local government personnel and thoroughbred professional, his diligent and brilliant disposition has actually positioned him for his consistent rise in his entry to the exit points of the service.

 A highly-focused and forward-looking individual, his wealth of experience and professional expertise has impacted widely on his numerous mentees in the service, particularly, those from the Information and Community Development Cadres.
I am glad to belong to this category, having had a great tutelage under him.
A stickler for excellence and one of the finest brains in the local government service, he has a knack for good policy formulation and quality job implementation.
He is known to always paying attention to details!

Born at Ibadan on the 25th of July 1961 into the family of Hon. E.O.J. BAMIRO, a founding member of the St. Mathew's Anglican Church Cathedral, Ojowo, Ijebu Igbo, and Mrs. Afolabi ADENUBI) of Bogije, Atikori, Ijebu Igbo, the young Adewale attended the St. John's Anglican Primary School, Molete, Ibadan between 1967 and 1970, and St. Luke's Anglican Primary School, Japara, Ijebu Igbo, between 1971 and 1972, where he obtained the Primary School Leaving Certificate.

He proceeded to Molusi College, Ijebu Igbo for his secondary education between January 1973 and June 1977, and  passed out obtaining the West African School Certificate.
Mr. BAMIRO also attended the Comprehensive High School, Ayetoro, Egbado, for his Higher School Certificate between 1978 and 1980.

For his University education, he proceeded to the premier University,   University of Ibadan, where he bagged the B.Sc. Hons. Degree in Political Science in 1983.
He also had an M.Sc. in Political Science from the same University, with  speciality in International Relations.

He joined the Ogun State Local Government Service on the 6th of May, 1986 as one of the Pioneer Information Officers and was posted to Ijebu Remo Local Government, Sagamu.
He served in various local governments across the four zones of Ogun State, namely Odogbolu, Obafemi Owode, Ijebu North, Yewa South, and Sagamu Local Governments, as Information Officer, and Director of Information, Education and Sports, respectively.

Still willing to acquire further knowledge, he enrolled for the Postgraduate Diploma in Local Government Studies at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, between 2009 and 2010.

He was appointed a Head of Local Government Administration in September 2012 and posted to Ewekoro Local Government, Itori. He has served at Yewa South, Imeko Afon, Ogun Waterside, and Ijebu Ode Local Governments, and finally, at Sagamu Local Government, where he  retires on the 6th of May, 2021.

A socialite of repute, he belongs to the Unipro Club Worldwide, and the prestigious Golf Club, Ibadan. His hobbies include Music, Reading and Golfing.

An Astute Administrator, Media Guru and Seasoned International Relations Analyst, Commentator and Enthusiast; he has attended several conferences in local government administration. He bagged the Great Leadership Award of the Department of Local Government Studies, Obafemi Awolowo University, IIe Ife.

A widely-travelled, greatly exposed and well-informed personality, Adewale BAMIRO, has been to several places, within and outside Nigeria. 

A devout Christian, he is a parishioner at the Cathedral Church of St. Mathew, (Anglican Communion), Ojowo, Ijebu lgbo. He Jerusalem Pilgrim, having been to the Holy Land of Israel in the year 2006.

A loving husband and a caring father, he is happily married to Dr. (Mrs.) Oluyemisi BAMIRO (nee ADESANYA), a lecturer at the Department of Pharmaceutics, and Ag. Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Sagamu campus, and the union is blessed with wonderful children.

As he takes a bow from the workplace environment, here is wishing a liberal and kind-hearted boss, a peaceful, joyful and rewarding retirement, and a happy 60th birthday celebration in advance, as he attains the diamond age on the 25th of July, 2021.
