Smuggling Activities: Soyombo, A close Associate of Yomi Adetula - Idiroko Vanguard Reveals

A group under the aegis of Idiroko Vanguard, led by Chief Olorode Saburi, has released a statement refuting allegations made by Fisayo Soyombo about smuggling activities in Idiroko.

The Vanguard claims that Soyombo's statements are baseless and intended to tarnish the reputation of the community and its security personnel.

They also accused Soyombo of being a close ally of Yomi Adetula, a known figure in smuggling circles, and suggest that his allegations are part of a larger scheme to divert attention from Adetula's activities.

The Vanguard urges the public to dismiss Soyombo's claims and commends the efforts of the Nigeria Customs Service and the 192 Battalion in combating smuggling in the region.

The statement reads "We, idiroko vanguard under the leadership of Cheif Olorode Saburi feel is compelled to address the baseless and misleading allegations recently spread by Mr. Fisayo Soyombo regarding a supposed smuggling activities taking place in Idiroko corridors, allegedly with the cooperation of the Nigeria Customs Service, Nigerian Army 192 Battalion and Adeyemi Habeeb Abdulganiy Abuga. These statements is not only unfounded but are also target at tarnishing the integrity of our community and the reputation of our hardworking security personnel’s."

"It is a public knowledge that Mr. Fisayo Soyombo maintains a close association with Mr. Yomi Adetula, a resident of Araromi Ikolaje, Idiroko and a known figure in smuggling circles. Under the pretense of his position with So-Safe Corps, where he serves as the Idiroko Area Commander, Mr. Adetula has used his influence to manipulate the public in his favors. Fisayo Soyombo is a close ally to Mr. Adetula and has been seeing in his company on various occasions, raising serious concerns about his motivations and the integrity of his claims of the said smuggling activity."

"Our community has long struggle with the impacts of smugglings, and we have tirelessly worked to address and mitigate these issue in collaboration with local authorities and the Nigeria Customs Service. It is therefore not only dishonest but also harmful for these individuals to suggest that our customs officials are complicit in the very activities they are dedicated to eradicating smugglings. The spread of these false allegations threatening and undermine the progress we have made and destabilize the efforts of all who strived to maintain order in Idiroko."

"It will be recollect that Fisayo Soyombo have been on silent mode from his usual misguided efforts, but back to the media after his bankrolling friend Mr. Yomi Adetula got arrested by custom officers after he threatening them with guns and weapons on Friday, from nowhere Fisayo was back to the news to dent the image of our community and Customs officers in his way of defending his smuggling friend- Yomi."

We urge the public to dismiss these baseless claims and to consider the motives of those who make them. Mr. Soyombo’s allegations are clearly part of a larger scheme planned by his associate- Mr. Yomi Adetula, to divert attention from his own activities and deflect accountability.

The idiroko vanguard remains committed to truth, transparency and the safety of our communities. We stand firmly with the Nigeria Customs Service, 192 battalion and commend their ongoing efforts to combat smuggling in our region. Together, we will continue to work for the welfare of Idiroko and ensure that our community reputation is preserved.

Thank you for your understanding.

Signed:

Olorode Saburi

Chairman, Idiroko Vanguard
