OGUN LGSC ROLLS OUT ACHIEVEMENTS, AS IT BEGINS 2023 LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE WEEK

As part of the efforts of Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration to make local government more responsible and responsive to the people, the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission had recently recruited over 600 staff to various positions in the local governments 

The Chairman of the Commission, Ms Olivia Onabanjo made this known while featuring on the Ogun State Television Programme, New Dawn as part of the activities marking the year 2023 Ogun State Local Government Service Commission Week.

Ms Onabanjo said among those recruited were twenty Doctors and consequently one per Local Government, eighteen Engineers,two across the twenty Local Governments, two legal practitioners, Community healthcare Extension Workers (CHEW) and at the junior-level, Health attendants across the twenty local Governments in Ogun State.

She said the recruitment would boost the number of personnel on the ground in each of the local government,  thereby making the local government perform its constitutional roles as the third tier of government.

"Apart from the engagement of new staff, the government has cleared the backlog of promotion from 2018/19/20, 2021/2022 with just 2023 promotion exercise still pending while conversion exercise for staffs who have gotten better qualifications have been done and   still ongoing.

Onabanjo reiterated the government's commitment to workers' welfare, saying that "the welfare of Staff is our Concern, we are making sure that there is discipline among members of staff of the Local Government". 

Speaking on the Local Government Week, Ms Onabanjo said the week is to showcase the quality of staff in each of the cadres  across the 20 Local Governments in the State.

"We have lots of Cadres in the Ogun State Local Governments, We have medical doctors, Pharmacy technicians, Community Health Extension Workers, Engineers, Legal practitioners and others who are well trained and disciplined, they are all professionals, and that is why we want to showcase our talents at the grand finale 

She applauded the good understanding and mutual working relationship between all the Unions in the Ogun Local Government service,  saying that," they have been very cooperative."

The Governor had successfully renovated some of primary health care centers in each ward across the twenty Local Governments in Ogun State 

While enumerating the achievements of the Commission since her appointment, She commended the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CFR as a good Captain, for his total support in ensuring that Local Governments in Ogun State thrive.

She then commented on the calibre of people working with her that she has crop of good men and women working with her including the four full-time Commissioners of the Commission 

She also spoke glowingly about  the career officers, ably led by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Adeolu Oluseun Olufowobi and the other four Directors of the Commission.

On the entourage of the Chairman, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission to the studio of the Ogun State Television,(OGTV) are  Hon Femi Lukmon Adiro, the full-time Commissioner 1, Hon Koye Ijaduoye , Full-time Commissioner II , Balogun Olatunde Rasaq Rufai, Full-time Commissioner 4, Dr.Adeolu Oluseun Olufowobi, the Permanent Secretary, all directors and the Information Unit of the Commission.
