To cushion the effects of Fuel Subsidy Removal by the Federal Government, the Executive Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi JP, has empowered hundreds of his residences with cash gifts as a form of employment.
The empowerment programme, organised by the Council Helmsman took place at Olusegun Taiwo Multipurpose Hall, Ake, Abeokuta, on Wednesday 25ty October, 2023, with attendance beneficiaries from the 15 Wards in the Local Government Area.
Hon. Majekodunmi stated that he felt there was a need to support both small and medium-sized business owners in the Local Government, especially during this trying period.
Responding on behalf of recipients, Mrs Jemila Balogun, Engr. Adebesin from Ward 8 and Mrs. Bolanle Bada from Ward 3, appreciated the kind gesture Hon. Majekodunmi extended to them. They prayed and showered encomium on him, while, the former Senior Special Adviser on Environment, Alhaji Faruoq Akintunde, eulogised the Chairman and admonished the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the cash gifts.
Present at the event were: the Leader of the Legislative Arm ASLG; Hon. Kazeem Adenekan, Supervisors, Special Adviser, Consultants, APC Party Chairman ASLG; ably represented by the APC ASLG Vice Chairman, Hon. Bayo Omidiji and party chieftains.
