Amb. Ogunsola organizes Awards Night to Commemorate 2nd year in Office.in the LG

Awards of Recognition has been given to people, companies and organizations, in acknowledgement of their contribution towards the Development and partnership with government in achieving success in the council area.

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Ogunsola Adesina Lanre hosted dignitaries across the State yesterday at Nigeria Labour Congress Hall, Leme , Abeokuta.

He said the Award Night was to showcase the people, companies and organizations that has stood solidly with his  administration in ensuring total delivery of good dividends of democracy to the people of obafemi owode local government.

He further explained that his led administration's efforts are meant to ensure a running of a transparency and equity in line with the slogan of "IGBEGA IPINLE OGUN, AJOSE GBOGBO WA NI O" as put forward by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, CON. in His mission agenda of "BUILDING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER" as it's defined in the five pillars of ISEYA mantra; Infrastructure, Social welfare and wellbeing, Education,Youth development, Agric and Food security.

He therefore thanked and appreciated the support of party faithfuls, leaders and the entire workforce of the government in obafemi owode.

Earlier, a keynote address was delivered by Barr. Habeeb Ajayi on the "Role of Local Government in the Re-birth of New Nigeria.

He recalled the  developmental role played by the local government in the past when they were given access to their allocation directly from the Federation Allocation Account Committee, FAAC. which made the impacts of government seen at the grassroot.

He further stressed that for an efficient and robust delivery of sustainable developmental projects at the grassroot, local government need to be autonomous.

He frowned at inability of the third tier of government is been relegated from her statutory function.

Similarly, Hon. Adebola Emmanuel Sofela, Chairman of the occasion, applaud Amb. Ogunsola for achieving success in building infrastructure across sectors of governance despite paucity of fund in the local governments. He therefore express his support for the local government autonomy,which will enhance the performance of council in alleviating problems at the grassroot.

Arch. Popoola, Chairman, PCRC, Ogun State. and Chief Olakekan Samuel Beyioku respectively.

Dignitaries at the occasion includes, Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun, former Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Engr. Adesina, Special Adviser on Roads Maintenance, Alhaji Babatunde Emilola Gazal, Chairman, ALGON, Ogun State, Barr. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission, Oba Taofeek Owolabi, Olu of Obafemi among others.
