WATER BORNE DISEASE: OOLG CHAIRMAN PROMISES TO ADDRESS PORTABLE WATER, CALL ON NGOs, PHILANTROPHISTS TO SUPPORT THE COUNCIL

Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina Lanre, the Chairman, Obafemi-Owode Local Government in Ogun State has good-heartedly regretted the suffering of his people in getting drinkable water system in some villages in the LG; promised to forestall the pains while calling on Non-Governmental organizations (NGOs) and philanthropists to support the Council Area in assuring the water system and other comforts needed in the interior of the LGA

The Executive Chairman, Amb. Ogunsola through the Director of Information, Education and Sports Department in the LG, Prince Segun Soneye made  this known to the caveattimesonline newspaper correspondent that, base on the response to the write-up on PUNCH Newspaper on Sunday May 21, 2023 which ascribed that "community in Ogun State in the terrain of Bamgbade Community, in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State is laboring to get drinkable water system that there, the community drink contaminated stream water".

He regretted the hardship the Communities are recently undergoing at this jet age, affirmed that the LG is on her deck for the best, evidently informed that the LGA would soften the plight.

Narated that the LG knows the fundamental needs of his people and prior to the report by the PUNCH Newspaper, sinking of industrial borehole is already ongoing at the  Fidiwo market with standby generator in the Local Government Area, posited that two or three boreholes are suppose to be sank but the financial capacity of the Local Government is very slim that the  borehole is going to serve major neighboring villages like Olugbo, Eleruja and Bamgbade village that was reported in the PUNCH suffering from drinkable water system.

Prince Soneye, Director Information, Education and Sports expressed further that prior the sinking of the borehole, elders in the villages were called upon to collectively agree on where the borehole should be sank and they eventually concurred to a certain place which was Fidiwo market in OOLG.

Said, in clarity, that the LG is not that bouyant to sink two or three boreholes in a Ward at a time simply being the paucity of funds experiencing and in meantime, such provisions equally needed to be done in other wards  of the LG but assured the Communities of more dividends of democracy in the axis.

Hon. Olusanjo Abiodun, Councilor representing Ajebo Ward 11 in the concerned Council Area buttressed the point that, the LG is geographically to be the largest LGA and upon that it has addressed many bottlenecks in the LGA in terms of constructions, rehabilitation of roads and availability of water system in some of the Communities in the council Area. He added that the Council feels the pains of the dwellers not only in the area of water system but healthcare system, rehabilitation of other roads which the council Boss has assured and still embarking on some. 

Hon. Olusanjo howbeit pleaded with the other dwellers to be patient with the Council Area for all strata would be positively touched while using the medium to call on the None-Governmental organizations (NGOs) and the philanthropists to help out the LGA in ensuring total succours in the Communities of the Council Area.
