ONIKOYI PRESENTS BUDGET OF HOPE

The Executive Chairman of Ipokia Local Government Hon. Agbetokun Olawale Wasiu AKA Onikoyi has said that "the main goal and major priority of the Year 2022 Budget is to ensure a significant improvement in the quality of life of the people at the grassroot".

The Council Chief said this while presenting Year 2022 proposed Budget to the Legislative Council on Thursday, 17th March, 2022 at the Legislative Chamber of the Local Government.

Hon Agbetokun disclosed that the budget prepared in line with International Public Sector Accounting Standard (IPSA) which is aimed at building on the solid foundation already laid through policies programmes and projects that would have direct impact on the lives of our people.
According to him, the budget size is Two Billion, Six Hundred and Sixty Seven Million Four Hundred and Thirty Seven Thousand Naira Only (2,667,437,000.00).

Shedding light on the Local Government Internally Generated Revenue Machinery, Hon Agbetokun said that it has been re-organized and energized with a view to generating more money into the coffers of the Local Government.
Speaking further, he disclosed that Year 2022 Budget will be financed from the following sources; (A) Statutory Allocation from Federation Accounts. (B) Internally Generated Revenue Fund (IGR). (C) Aids and Grants (State Government).
He appealed to all sundry to continue to co-operate with his administration to reposition, transform and improve the standard of living of our people at the grassroot level.

Responding, the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Ezekiel Mautin Zangode assured Hon. Agbetokun of an accelerated consideration and speedy passage to become bye - Law in the interest of the people having evaluated proposed Budget and ensured that it is in with the International Public Sector Accounting Standard (IPSAS).

Speaking further, Hon. Zangode said that the Honorable House is poised to work with the Executive Arm more than ever before to replicate the giant strides of the state in terms of developmental projects in the Local Government to meaningfully impact the lives of the people at the grassroots.
