The Executive Chairman of Ado-odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Adewale Musa, has made an appeal to the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute National Laboratory Complex, Ota to assist both the public and private sectors by building a solid collaboration in the areas of building and road construction.
Hon. Musa made this statement when he led the management team of the council on a working tour to the Nigerian Building and Research Institute National Laboratory Complex (NLC), Ota recently. He also stated that the motive behind his visit was to strengthen the existing relationship between the Council and NBBRI which will assist both organization to open the eyes of the public to effective use of locally sourced materials as an alternative to importation of construction materials as well as tackling environmental issues.

The Council Boss proposed that a prototype of NBRRI's low cost bricks be used for construction of the newly proposed Legislative complex at Ado-odo/Ota Local Government Secretariat. He further stated NBBRI's interlocking blocks be used for road construction in the Secretariat which is mostly waterlogged during the raining season. He expressed his satisfaction of NBRRI's fabricated machines and requested assistance from NBRRI in the area of Artisan Training on fabrication of machines which will assist the Local Government and her community in tackling the issues of unemployment in the council area and society at large.
Earlier speaking while welcoming the Chairman and his team to the Institute, the acting Coordinator NLC Ota, Dr. Friday I. Apeh who spoke on behalf of the DG/CEO, NBRRI Professor Samson Duna intimated the Chairman on the research works of the Institute as well as the results and how it has been beneficial to the country as a whole.
He further stated that the request made by the Chairman will be passed to the DG/CEO of NBRRI. He also said that there is an existing Artisan Training Institute in Ikoyi Lagos State which is operational.

The Chairman and his management team were later taken on a tour of the NBBRI where various departments were visited.

The head of Local Government Administration Dr. Adebola Bamgbose appreciated the management of NBRRI for their hospitality and urged them to key into what the Chairman has requested for so as to make Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government and Nigeria as a whole a better place.
