Chairman, Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Hon. Ogunsola Adesina Lanre and Mrs. Ogunsola have been awarded today as the eminent peace Ambassadors of Nigeria.
The investiture was confirmed on the establishment of their ultimate contributions to the society.
However, official decoration and Award presentation were customarily invested on the Council Chairman and the First Lady OOLG, Mrs. Ogunsola by the International Association of World Peace Advocate ( A World Class Organisation with United Nations Ecosoc Special Consultative States since 2019).
In clarity, at the educative event, it was narated that United Nations set aside every 21st September as International Peace Day to focus global attention on peace issues as the cornerstone for big-hearted ness which is the path to sustain development goals in the Nations.
According to the guest speaker, Ambassador (Prof.) Chidi Ehiriodo, the Director of International Association of World Peace Advocates, affirmed that as its name implies have two main functions: Advocacy for peace and sustainable Development.
Stated that the Association works through Country offices to appoint volunteers, peace Ambassadors and to promoting the Nations idea of volunteers around the World. further said that, strengths of the Association lies in its volunteer who in each year brings skills to communities within their borders or abroad to help local people become the driving force of their own communities.
Therefore, besseched the recipients, the newly Ambassadors of UN to continue in the qualities contribution to their various communities.
Positioned that their good dispositions in the community work are the manifestation of what has fetched them the Award received today.
Council Chairman OOLG, Hon. Ogunsola appreciated the World Class Organisation for giving him the Award affirmed that, Award given to him today is another encouragement for him to recompose and contribute more to the development of his communities promising that he would not renege in that efforts; thereafter said he would ensure to include the hearts of his people in every policy meant to the growth of the society.
Other Awardees were: Dr. Goodnews Osah; Senior Lecturer at Babcock University, Amb. (Prof.) Francisca Bassey and Amb. Apostle Chinyere Cecilia Amaechi.
