HON. ADESINA ASSURES PEOPLE OF EWEKORO LOCAL GOVERNMENT OF ADEQUATE SECURITY OF LIVES AND PROPERTIES

The Executive Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government,  Hon. Sikirullahi Adesina has assured all the inhabitants of the council area of adequate security of lives and properties from now on.

Hon. Adesina gave this promise recently at a security summit organized by his administration in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) with the theme; *"Curbing The Rising Case Of Kidnapping In Our Domain,"* held at the King's Court Event Centre, Itori to find a lasting solution to the menace of kidnapping, cultism, rubbery and other social vises that has became rampant and which has been given the entire council area sleepless nights.

He reiterated that, his administration will partner with the security agencies in order to confront the security challenges headlong while, noting that, it's the duty of a responsible and responsive government to take issue of security its priority. So, he would leave no stone unturned in a bid to bring everyone found culpable to face the full wrath of the law.
The Council Boss said, the summit will be an annual event which will have all the stakeholders coming together to fashion out ways of eradicating criminality in our communities. He noted that, being the closest tier of government to the masses, we know ourselves and we should be able to read out all the crimes and criminalities in our neighborhood and if anyone is caught, he or she will face the music.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun on his own commended the sagacity of the Council Chairman, spending almost a month into the office for putting together such a summit geared towards making security of lives and properties of his citizenry as a matter of importance. The CP who was represented at the summit by ACP Muideen Obe, Area Commander Sango - Ota- Ifo- Itori, enjoined people to feel free to share useful and timely information about criminal act with the police as there are various tactical approaches employ to unravel different means used by hoodlums. Noting that, there is anti- criminal as well as anti - kidnapping units at the State Command, Eleweran, Abeokuta to handle different cases.
 
Speaking earlier, the Olu of Itori, HRM Oba AbdulFatai Akamo and State Patron (PCRC) described the event as epoch making one which is to rob minds on the way to move the security of the local government to the next level. He stressed that, kidnappers don't have respect for class, royalty or status and that is the main reason all hands must be on deck to find a lasting solution to the risen cases.

The PCRC State Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Samson Popoola cautioned on the risen state of abduction and kidnapping in the Northern part of the country which is now getting into the Southern parts and this should be everybody's concerns. Stressed further that, if the issue of Community Policing is harnessed by the Federal Government could be a lasting solution to the menace.
