The Acting Head of Local Government Administration, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Alhaji Onagbenga Onayemi has charged the local government employees to be of good conduct.
He gave the charge while speaking during a familiarisation meeting with the staff of the local government, held at the Itoro Hall of the local government secretariat, Ijebu Ode, on Wednesday.
The Acting HoLGA who was recently posted to Ijebu Ode Local Government, from Odogbolu Local Government, enjoined the workers to be more committed and responsive in their duties, and also ensure they abstain from lateness and absenteeism, and shun indecent dressing.
In line with the Local Government Service Commission's directive on human capital development, based on the post COVID-19 new-normal, he assured of plans to commence the training and retraining of all the employees on a departmental and inter-departmental basis, to enhance their productivity.
He further announced the introduction of a bi-weekly office environmental sanitation exercise which shall hold on every first and third Thursdays of the month. This according to him, is to create a more cleaner and neater working environment.
He then prayed and sought for a mutual working relationship between him and the entire staff.
Responding, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ijebu Ode Local Government branch, Comrade Tosin Kuku, assured the Acting HoLGA of the cooperation and support of the entire workforce of the local government.
He described his posting as home-coming, and that he should be confident that he is in the midst of his people.
Earlier in the Day, Alhaji Onayemi had met with the Management Team, who also pledged their unalloyed cooperation and support to him.
The newly-posted Ag. HoLGA, an accountant by training, is also the Director of Finance and Treasurer of the local government.
