ASLG CHAIRMAN, MAJEKODUNMI, INAUGURATES THE 7TH LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL, CHARGES THEM TO BE GOOD AMBASSADORS

The Executive chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon.Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi has inaugurated the 7th Legislative Council of Abeokuta South Local Government at the council's Secretariat hall today 16th August,2021.

The Council boss, while addressing the newly  inaugurated councillors at the swearing-in ceremony charged them to be good ambassadors of the people they are representing and also to provide good governance at the grassroots.

The Council helmsman, expressed his profound gratitude to the State Governor, His Excellency,Prince Dapo Abiodun (MFR) for his divine wisdom in bringing a new befitting face to the State in ensuring the dividends of democracy cut across the grassroots.

Hon. Majekodunmi implored the Legislative arm to give their full cooperation and loyalty to the Executive arm of the Council and shun all acts that can distract the attention of the administration which may draw it's progressive move backward.

Speaking earlier, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon.Afolabi Afuape, urged the newly inaugurated councillors to work in tandem with their chairman so as to leave the Council far better than the way they met it.

In his own speech, the All Progressive Congress party chairman, Hon. Henry Adetunji Fagbenro, also admonished the councillors to see the opportunity given to them as a challenge and a call to serve.

Thereafter, the 7th Legislative Council was inaugurated by the Clerk of the House, Mrs. Fatade Anuoluwa and  Hon. Adenekan Kazeem Agboola emerged as the Leader of the House, Hon.Ismail Soyoye as Deputy Leader, Hon.Seyi Sodiya Oladayo as Majority Leader and Hon.Gafar Olasupo Idowu as Chief Whip.

Hon. Adeyemi Ademuyiwa- Member of House of   Representative, Abeokuta South Constituency (ii).

Hon.Longe Kikelomo- Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment.

Dr. Femi Majekodunmi- Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

Hon.Titi Oseni Gomez- former  Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly.

Chief Sunday Sowunmi- All Progressive Congress State financial secretary.

The Head of Local Government Administration- Mr.Owolabi Babatunde Adeola.
