LG POLL: IOLG BOSS HOSTS OGSIEC RESIDENT ELECTORAL OFFICER AND SECURITY OPERATIVES, PLEDGES COUNCIL's SUPPORT

Ahead of the forthcoming Local Government Poll and in readiness for a hitch-free election, the Chairman, Transition Committee, Ijebu Ode Local Government Engr. Olugbenga OLUGBILE, has met with the Resident Electoral Officer, Mrs. Funlola AROYEUN and Security Operatives in the local government area.

The Council Boss at the Peace and Security meeting, held at the council secretariat, Itoro, Ijebu Ode, on Monday, formally welcomed the newly-posted Resident Electoral Officer, as he pledged the council's support towards ensuring a peaceful, free, fair and hitch-free election.
He commended the security agencies for their effort in maintaining security of lives and properties in the local government area.

In her address, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. AROYEUN sought the synergy of the security agencies in ensuring a smooth conduct of the election, and  maintaining orderliness amongst voters and party agents. He craved the support of the security operatives before, during and after the election, up to the final submission of result to the commission's headquarter.
She also wants a proper monitoring of the electoral process across the wards, particularly wards 10 and 11, as she assured the agencies of provision of necessary logistics to them.

Responding, the security agencies pledged to work professionally towards ensuring a credible poll.

Present at the meeting are representative of the Area Commander, Ijebu Ode, DSP Oluwole ADENIGBE; DPO Obalende; SP Murphy SALAMI; DPO Igbeba, CSP Musiliu DOGA; CSC Oladipupo ADENIJI and SC Folukemi OYEBADE of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps; R.O. ADEBIYI and Tunde ADEPOJU of the Department of State Service; Capt. C.E. AZUBUIKE of the Nigerian Army, Ilese Barracks; Ayankoya MARCUS of the SO-SAFE CORPS; and Olaniyi BALOGUN of the AMOTEKUN security outfit.
