IKENNE LG CHAIRMANSHIP CANDIDATE, OGUNLEYE RECIEVES ROYAL BLESSINGS

As the elections into the twenty local governments of Ogun State draws nearer, the chances of the All Progressive Congress, Ikenne Local Government, of emerging victorious at the election is increasing on a daily basis.

This is going by the number of support and endorsements so far received by the party's candidates from various stakeholders in the council area.

Thursday, 15th July is not an exception as the Chairmanship Candidate, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE, alongside his running-mate, Hon. Bolanle FAKOYA, received royal blessings from royal fathers in the local government area.

The Onirolu of Irolu, Oba Sikiru ADEYIGA, represented by his Chiefs; the Olofin of Ilisan; Oba Michael SONUGA; the Alakenne of Ikenne, Oba Adeyinka ONAKADE; and the Onidotun of Idotun, Oba Odunayo SOLARIN; all gave royal blessings to their aspiration and prayed for the victory of the Chairmanship and Vice Chairmanship candidates in the July 24 elections. 

The candidates were however urged to run an open-door government and make themselves accessible to the people when voted into office.

In his address at the places visited, the party's flagbearer, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE, thanked the royal fathers for the warm reception accorded the campaign team, saying that the traditional institution is held in a high esteem, and that as a result of the regard that he has for them, it becomes imperative that he gets their royal blessings before embarking on the ward to ward tour of their respective domains.

The Chairman of the Campaign Organization, and Chairman, Ogun State Teaching Service Commission, Evang. Olalekan IFEDE, presented the Chairmanship candidate, his Vice,  and Councillorship candidates to the Royal Fathers, while the party's Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Jamiu ASIMI also presented them to party faithfuls at the various wards visited.

 

Hon. OGUNLEYE and other leaders who spoke during the tour, enjoined the people to come out enmasse on the election day, and vote for all the party candidates, in order to consolidate on the gains of the APC-led government at both the state and local government levels.

Yesterday's visit to Irolu, Ilisan, and Ikenne, wards 10; 8 and 9; and 1 and 2; brings to a close, the Ward to Ward Tour of the local government area by the party.

On the campaign entourage were the Party Leader, Chief Pegba OTEMOLU; Chairman, Transition Committee, Ikenne Local Government, and Director General of the Campaign Committee, Hon. Rotimi AKINSANYA; Secretary of the Campaign Committee,  Mr. Kola ODUSANYA; former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Odofin SONUGA; former Chairmen, Ikenne Local Government, Messrs Tajudeen SALAKO and Rotimi ONAJOLE; members of the local and ward executives; party elders and leaders; as well as other party members.

Meanwhile, the campaign grand-finale holds on Saturday, at the Ikenne Motor Park, Ikenne, and shall have in attendance, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, MFR.
