There was an alleged palpable fear in the camp of onipokia of ipokia, Oba Yisa Olaniyan in ipokia local govt area of Ogun state over rumour of possible change of the presiding judge, Sikiru Owodunni.
Ipokia High Court sitting in Ipokia is currently hearing a case instituted against State government, Yisa Olaniyan, over his purported selection as the new onipokia of ipokia by the Iwaye dodo ruling house through Oteni Botemole royal family.
At the last sitting, the absence of the presiding judge stall the proceedings. A situation, that generated uproar among the indigenes and residents of the ancient town.
Speaking on the replacement rumour of the presiding judge, some of the kingmakers who spoke on condition of anonymity, said if the rumour is true, the outcome may not be in their camp's interest.
When pressed to make clarification on the statement, the chiefs in a separate interview, stressed that the continuous delay in the commencement of the trial occasioned by the various objections of their counsel, may frustrate the efforts of the plaintiff whom they sure would fail in court.
However, another prince of iwaye dodo ruling house in the town, denied the knowledge of any change of judge as they "did not notice any hostility by the judge towards their case".
He said they have absolute confidence in the judiciary as the last hope of the common man.
The court proceedings is yet to resume, after it was adjourned to Tuesday, March 29 but the presiding judge absence stalled it.
