The Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government Dr. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo has joined other eminent personalities to rejoice with the Olowu of Owu Kingdom His Royal Majesty, Oba ( Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola, FNSE, Oluyalo Otileta VII on this year 2025 Odun Omo Owu which will commence On Sunday 19th of October 2025 and it will come to an end on Saturday 25th of October 2025.
The Annual Festival is traditionally observed after the harvesting season which translates to the end of September or early in October of each year. Passionately considered to be year's Yam harvest , thoughtfully identified as a major item in the Menu of the Festival.
In the sequence, the celebration will occasion the Kabiesi, Oba (Prof) Saka Matemilola to bless all indigenes with prayers for long life, peace, prosperity and harmony across Owu Communities.
Council Chairman in the Local Government in his Statement, Dr.Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, said that a long week event is a rallying point for all Owu citizens both in Nigeria and diaspora who are regarded as Sons and Daughters of the Olowu.
He, however, urged the indigenes of Owu and the well wishers around and beyond to celebrate the rich heritage of 2025 Odun Omo Olowu Festival with ideas of reckoning character that will showcase the festival to the world for better emulation.
