EWEKORO COMMUNITY GRAMMAR SCHOOL MAKES HISTORY!

A Dream Nurtured by the People, for the Future of Their Children

History was made in the heart of Ewekoro as the community-owned Ewekoro Community Grammar School held its first-ever prefects’ inauguration ceremony — a beautiful milestone that tells the story of unity, self-help, and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
What started as a dream built by the hands and hearts of the people has now grown into a school shaping future leaders. On this special day, students, parents, teachers, and community leaders gathered to celebrate leadership, discipline, and progress.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Bola Awesu, Chairman of the School Management Committee, expressed deep gratitude to the Baale, the entire Ewekoro community, and Lafarge for their unwavering support. He thanked parents for their cooperation and emphasized that the inauguration was more than a ceremony — it was about building leadership from the roots.

" We are raising young people who will learn early how to manage people, resources and responsibilities. They are the leaders of tomorrow and tomorrow starts now," - he said proudly

Mrs. Tolulope Adeleye, one of the dedicated teachers, described the event as a milestone in the life of the school. She celebrated the prefects for their hard work, good character, and academic excellence.
" This moment shows the trust and confidence we have in these young stars , "- She said, urging other students to support their new prefects.

Parents also shared words of wisdom. Prophet Peter Adejare and Mrs. Peter Jimi reminded the prefects that leadership is about service. They encouraged them to be patient, kind, and humble as they set the foundation for future prefects.

Speaking on behalf of their fellow leaders, Senior Boy, Abdul Rasheed Fawaz, and Senior Girl, Akanni Zainab, couldn’t hide their excitement and gratitude.
" This honour is not ours alone, it belongs to every student who believes in hard work, discipline and good character,"- they said, promising to lead with respect, honesty and dedication in making our school greater.

The day was filled with smiles, music, and colourful cultural dances by the students — a proud showcase of the rich heritage of the Ewekoro people.

Beyond the celebration, this event stands as a reminder of what a united community can achieve. The people of Ewekoro have built a school through self-help and collective effort — a shining example of community development at its best.

Now, the community is calling on government and public stakeholders to recognize this effort and join hands to support and sustain this great vision.

Ewekoro Community Grammar School is more than a school — it is a symbol of hope, resilience, and the power of togetherness.
