The executive chairman of Odeda Local Government, Hon.( Dr) Adeyemo Folasade commenced her second term in office with the flag off of Insecticide Treated Nets ( ITN), free of charge to all households in the Local Government Area to protect them from mosquito bite that cause malaria.

The Council boss  appreciated the Governor of the state, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, the Federal Ministry of Health in their bid to eliminate the menace of malaria in the state through the National Malaria Elimination Program.

She also promised to use different channels and resources to disseminate information on the use of Insecticide Treated Mosquitoes Net which has began on Tuesday, 19th of November, 2024 and run through 23rd of November, 2024 to ensure that families are protected  from mosquitoe bite by sleeping inside their nets.

Her words : " I am so much delighted to stand before you as the chairman re-elect and I thank you all for the confidence and trust you have in me by voting me in for the second term as Local Government Chairman. I and my cabinet promise you all better governance and more dividends of democracy as we resume office."-- the Chairman added.

In his own keynote address, the  Hon. Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide advised the people of Odeda Local 

Government to always endeavor to use ITN at all times to prevent all sorts of malaria infections and not to use it for what is not meant for because government is spending a lot of money to eliminate malaria in the state.

He also commended the Ogun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his tireless efforts in the rebuilding of the state with impactful projects that cut across the state. He described him as silent achiever.

Mrs Ebere Eze, SFH Officer re- affirmed that the nets are free, safe and effective to protect all members of the family from the mosquito bite. She said the net should be aired under a shade for 24-hours before it is put to use .

In attendance were HOLGA Dr. Adekoya A. O, Mrs Olubiyi Division Officer NSCDC, Odeda LG Mrs Nelson Babafemi, Nutrition Officer and many other dignitaries.
