In a bid to alleviate the financial burden on indigent parents and students, the DSS Foundation, a non-governmental and non-profit organization, has embarked on a philanthropic gesture in Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The foundation through the founder, Dr. Seun Sokan, said the foundation aims to provide educational materials worth millions of Naira to students in the local government area.
Dr. Seun Sokan, who is also a native of Ijagun in Odogbolu, stated that the decision to focus on Odogbolu was driven by his desire to give back to his community.
According to him "I remember my childhood days in Ijagun, and I feel compelled to make a positive impact in the lives of the people here"
"It's not about having much, but about having a heart of giving, especially in these challenging economic times."
Our correspondent gathered that the foundation has identified 10 schools in the local government area to benefit from the donation, which includes school bags, exercise books, mathematical sets, biros, school sandals, and other educational materials.
The foundation founder revealed that it wouldn't stop there, as the foundation plans to continue supporting the less privileged in the community.
He also hinted at future plans for the aged, widows, and youth in the area.
"We urge other well-meaning Nigerians to join us in supporting those in need," Dr. Seun said. "Together, we can make a difference in the lives of many."
He said "the DSS Foundation's office will be open to receive visitors and donations, as the organization continues to embark on its mission to support the less privileged in Odogbolu Local Government Area and beyond."
