The Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Ogunsola Adesina Lanre, FCPA, has presented Year 2024 Draft Budget to the Legislative Council, christen " Budget of Consolidation and Sustainable Development" with the total estimation of Four Billion, Three Hundred and Ninety Three Million, Five Hundred and Forty Seven Thousand, Seven Hundred and Seventy Four Naira ( N 4,393,547,774:00).
Amb. Ogunsola explained that the budgetary estimates are economically crafted to secure an enduring legacy for its Led Administration and to further establish solid framework for a sustainable growth and development of the Local Government.
He further appreciates His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, CON, Governor, Ogun State for his Landmark contribution to the growth and development in Ogun State and Obafemi Owode Local Government in particular.
He equally expressed heartfelt congratulations to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the clear cut victory at the Supreme Court, which is an attestation of the trust and confidence of the people of Ogun State in his leadership, as the coast is clear for continuity and progressive performance in the state.
Reviewing Year 2023 Budget, Amb. Ogunsola revealed that the performance is enormous coupled with the various degrees of transformative projects and programs across 12 political wards and sectors of government despite the limited available resources, as his administration has created more secured, prosperous and socially inclusive society that will continue to impacts positively on the general wellbeing of the people living in the council area.
" Permit me to say unequivocally in line with this administration's strict commitment to the budgetary discipline, we have established a formidable structure to ensure proper implementation of this appropriation bill as well as monitoring of its performance to maximize the dividends of democracy for the people of Obafemi Owode Local Government, State and Nation in general", said Amb. Ogunsola.
Hon. Kayode Kehinde Akinsola, Leader of the Legislative Council, Obafemi Owode Local Government while responding, describes the present set of councillors as men of valiant with harmonious relationship whose ready to give out their best in terms of cooperation to achieve success.
He therefore assured of timely legislation on the year 2024 budget, as it is their duty in ensuring Obafemi Owode Local Government occupy enviable position among her sisters Local governments in Ogun State.
Similarly, In recognition of the dedicated services at the grassroot, Awards of Recognition of Excellence was bestowed on the Past Living Chairmen both as elected, Transitional and Union Leaders, who had served in various capacities since creation of Obafemi Owode Local Government.
Hon. Ganiu Hamzat, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs described the gesture as first of its kind in Ogun State Local Governments, stressed that he will propagate the replica of such program to other Council Chairmen in the state.
Some of the Awardees in the category of Local Government Past Chairmen includes, Oba Lawrence Adisa Odeyinka, Olu of Siun, Baale Olalekan Lukmon, Engr. Babatunde Akeem Adesina, Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Works, Chief Tayo Sunday Oluwole, Bobatolu, Oke Ona Egba, Alhaji Jamiu Balogun and others.
Also on the Awards of the Past Branch Union Chairmen of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees ( NULGE) includes,Comrade Ayuba Olatunji former NULGE State President, Comrades Oluwakemi Jaiyesimi, Wale Afuwape, Wole Sorunke, Jamiu Yekini, Muyiwa Onabiyi, Samson Tosin Sotade.
