IMEKO-AFON: LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIR, AGAIN, KICKS OFF ROUND OF PROJECTS

With passion, borne out of unwavering commitment to his Oath of Office, the Executive Chairman of the "True Virgin Land", Chief Yaya Fadipe, has again initiated laudable capital-intensive projects, geared at improving the lives of indigenes and residents of Imeko Afon Local Government.

Speaking in an interview-based session with the Information Crew of the Local Government in his Office, the helmsman of the Local Government, emphasized that "it is only imperative of this administration under my leadership, to complement the efforts of the Executive Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun (mfr), in providing, amongst others, a conducive atmosphere for local economic growth and safeguarding the lives of its citizenry."
"The Governor has released funds to us, we therefore, must commit the fund into beneficial projects, which we have meticulously considered to be the pressing needs of our people" Chief Fadipe stated.


In order to boost economic activities and unhindered inflow and outflow of agricultural produces within the local government remote areas, the Council has commenced the grading of strategic roads for the use of the people. Least of the each roads project being currently graded are about 1.5 kilometers. The on-going grading of roads would be replicated in each of the ten (10) wards that comprises the Local Government Area.

On socio-cultural development, the Executive Chairman has highlighted the renovation project of two (2) Town Halls, namely: Idofa Town Hall and Ilara Town Hall. In his words, Chief Fadipe said: "preservation and protection of our cultural heritage, will always take priority in my administration. And key, amongst our cultural heritage, are our cultural properties. Each of our Five Towns has its own Town Hall and those Town Halls enhances our sense of identity and are platforms for building social connections. Idofa Town Hall and Ilara Town Hall has been in deplorable states over the years and its high time we fix them."


Worthy of accolades, among other key projects currently being executed by the Yaya Fadipe-led administration, is the sinking of three (3) deep wells to provide access to clean water for Communities where the wells would be sited at. The Communities where each of the deep wells would be sunk are: Aseleke village, Agberiodo village and Afon township, within the Local Government. 


Also, the Local Government Secretariat in Imeko is not left out, as the Executive Chairman has embarked on the renovation of the office complex in the Secretariat, thus, ensuring a work-friendly environment for the workforce.

The Executive Chairman, Chief Yaya Fadipe, has emphasized that in spite of the stringent economy, his administration would do everything within financial reach in providing basic amenities, to as many communities as he could, stressing that all Wards in the Local Government would feel the impact of democracy. He however, called for the collaborative moral support of the citizenry in taking Imeko Afon Local Government to enviable heights.
