OYEKAN FELICITATE ONABANJO, OLUFOWOBI, AS OGUN STATE LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE COMMISSION HOLDS MAIDEN LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICE WEEK

Tope Oyekan, a retired Deputy Director of Information in the Ogun State Local Government Service, and erstwhile Head, Information, Education, and Sports, Ikenne Local Government, has felicitated Barr. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, and Dr. Adeolu Oluseun Olufowobi, Chairman and Permanent Secretary, respectively, of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, as the commission celebrates the maiden edition of the Ogun Local Government Service Week.

Oyekan in a press release, rejoiced with the leadership of the commission for the novel idea aimed at  bringing together the council employees across the state in social interaction, showcasing the potentials of the LGAs, and its employees, roll out the commission's achievements and challenges, as well as rewarding excellence among its personnel.

He commended the Chairman for providing the effective leadership which in turn has produced the desired result leading to an improved and a reinvigorated local government service.

Oyekan also lauded the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Adeolu Olufowobi, a seasoned medical practitioner and versatile administrator, for leading a crop of competent professionals as management team at the commission. 
According to him, the team had collaborated effectively and operated in synergy with the political functionaries to successfully deliver on the vision and mission statements of the commission, in line with the "Building Our Future Together" Agenda, and the "ISEYA" Mantra of the Prince Dapo Abiodun CON-led administration in Ogun State 

He commended the commission for some of its achievements which include the regular training and retraining of personnel, timely promotion of officers, and employment of new staff, in particular, healthcare workers. This according to him has led to an improved productivity and quality service delivery at the grassroot.

"I have no doubt in my mind that the commission's effort at attaining its vision of being the most-disciplined, ethically-acculturated, and professionally-grounded local government service in Nigeria; as well as its mission of having a local government that is effective in service delivery by its crop of well-trained and disciplined personnel; anchored on its Core Values of Integrity, Discipline, Professionalism, and Passion for Excellence; is yielding the expected fruits," said Oyekan, in the release.

He therefore wish the commission and the entire local government employees in the state an eventful and a remarkable celebration, as he enjoined the council workers to reciprocate the commission's good gesture by further putting in their best to deliver a more improved and better people-oriented services at the third tier of government.

The week-long event according to a release signed by Sakiru Olopade, Chairman, Press Release Sub-committee, shall commence on Friday, 10th November, 2023 with a personality interview programme on OGTV - "New Dawn", featuring the Chairman, Barr. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo.
A Jumat service is also slated to hold on the same day at the Federal Secretariat Mosque, Oke mosan, Abeokuta; while a Thanksgiving Service shall hold on Sunday, 12th November, 2023, at the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Degun, Ijebu Ode.

On Monday, 13th November, 2023, a Medical Outreach/Charity Programme shall hold at designated centres in the RIYE (Remo, Ijebu, Yewa, Egba) zones of the state; while a Public Lecture has been slated to hold on Tuesday, 14th November, 2023, at the Obas Complex, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.

In continuation of the celebration, a sensitization Road Show has been packaged to hold within Abeokuta metropolis on Wednesday, 15th November, 2023; and a Novelty Football Match, is also scheduled to hold later in the day at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta; while the Grande-finale, rounding off the celebration, holds on Thursday, 16th November, 2023, with a Gala Nite/Banquet at the DLK Events Centre, Abeokuta.
