The Executive Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Adebayo Abdulsalam Ayorinde, has presented a budget of Three Billion,Nine Hundred and Eighty Five Million and Twenty-Five Naira and Fifty Kobo (#3,985,024,735.56k) as year 2023 proposed budget to the Legislative Council members on Thursday, 8th June,2023, for consideration and approval.
The event which took place in the Council Secretariat, Akomoje Abeokuta. would put the well-being of people at Abeokuta North Local Government of governance through massive reconstruction, amenities and various of developments in urban and rural areas.
The Chairman, during his presentation said the 2023 budget was designed as "A BUDGET FOR SUSTAINABLE GROWTH" towards improving the Socio- economic growth and development of the Local Government Areas, as well to provide more social amenities to the people in order to fulfill his electoral promises by commencing new projects and at the same time to fast track the completion of all on-going projects within the Local Government Area.
Prince Ayorinde further said, the budget presentation exercise is an opportunity to review the journey so far, chat the way forward and set a benchmark for better performance to take our Local Government to a greater heights.
The Council boss, expressed his sincere appreciation to Almighty God for His grace to witness the event. He, however commended the efforts of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, CON the Governor of Ogun State,for his laudable projects extended in assurance to enable the dividends of democracy spread across the state.
Nevertheless, Prince Ayorinde also appreciated the cooperation of the Legislators in the LG and other political functionaries, Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) and all members of staff towards the success and upliftment of the Local Government.
The Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon.Sanni Sikiru Tunde, in his acceptance speech, appreciated God Almighty and everyone witnessed this year budget. He further stressed that, budget in any organization is a working tool that is used in guiding the income and expenditure in order to achieve a target goal.
Conclusively, the Leader of the house assured the Executive Chairman and his team that the Honourable House will not hesitate to pass the bill into law,so as to ensure it's proper implementation in order to achieve our dynamic aim to the glory of God and for the progress of the entire people of Abeokuta North Local Government.Meanwhile, the vote of thanks was delivered by the Majority Leader of the house,Hon. Makonjuola Tunde Saliu.
Present at the occasion were:the Vice Chairman,Hon.Ayoola Oluajo, Secretary to the Local Government,Hon. Kabiru Odusiji, Supervisors, Special advisers, Consultants and Liaison Officers in the Local Government.
Others were:the Directors,HOD's of various department and other Political stalwarts.
