The Chairman Abeokuta South Local Government Ake, Hon. Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi JP today Wednesday April 19, 2023 presented a budget of Four Billion, Five Hundred and Sixty -Three Million, Six Hundred and Thirty-Four Thousand, Eight Hundred and Forty-Seven Naira, Fifty-Seven Kobo (N4. 563, 634, 847.57) to the Legislative Arm of the Local Government.
Majekodunmi during the presentation said Year 2023 Appropriation Bill was dependent on availability of funds which would be centred by and large, to better the lots of the people at the grassroots and to support the State's Agenda for "Building our Future Together".
While appreciating the Legislators of the Local Government, he appreciated them for their cooperation in the preceding administrations in the council which has resulted to the outgrowth in the Council Area to reach out to the dwellers in terms of development. Further said the 2023 budget would still strive hard to ensure that the lives of the residents are improved upon, however entreating the dwellers to assist its governance by paying their taxes, levies and dues to the Local Government proclaimed that doing that would ease and quiken the dividends of democracy at the doorsteps of the residents.
The Leader of the House, Hon. Kazeem Adenekan assured
the audience at the presentation that the lawmakers earnestly would do their work in ensuring the implementation of the 2023 budget.
