OGUNSOLA PRESENTS N3,918,180,340:00 Billion 2023 BUDGET TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Ogunsola Adesina Lanre, on Monday 27th March, 2023 presented the total of Three Billion, Nine Hundred and Eighteen Million, One Hundred and Eighty Thousand, Three Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira(N3,918,180,340:00) to the Legislative Council of the Local Government as year 2023 Budget Proposal for consideration and approval.

Ogunsola in his address, revealed the main thrust of the budget christened "budget of consolidation towards securing our future together". Amb. Ogunsola informed that the budget is intended to further propel economic growth, increased revenue generation and improved standard of living for the people at the grassroot.

Reviewing the performance of year 2022 budget, Amb. Ogunsola noted that the programmes, projects and policies embarked on as stipulated by the budget has yielded  positive impact on the living standard and general well-being of the people. According to him, this has also placed the Local Government's name in the  National Hall of Fame and recognition which culminated in the merit award given to the Council by the Nigerian Local Government Chairman Merit Award (LOGMAN)  held in Abuja on 27th October, 2022.

He further appreciated, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, Governor of Ogun State for his various landmark initiatives aimed at bringing development to the grassroot. He specifically made reference to infrastructural projects by the state government sited within the Council Area.

He however, requested the Leader and honourable members to give the budget  a speedy consideration as it reflects the yearnings and request of the good people of Obafemi Owode Local Government.

"This year's appropriation bill is a product of the demands, based on consultations and deliberations with various stakeholders across the length and breath of the Council Area and was carefully prepared in line with International Public Sector Accounting Standard ( IPSAS) to ensure effective delivery of dividend of democracy for the people of the Local Government and beyond", said Ogunsola.

The Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon.Akinsola Kayode Kehinde appreciated the Executive Chairman, Amb. Ogunsola for making it a duty in accordance with  the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to present the budget to the Legislative Council for proper legislation by the Honourable Councillors. He however, promised to give the year 2023 budget proposal a fair consideration and passage within the shortest period without any delay. 

He also appreciated all the Political Leaders, Traditional Rulers, Community and Religious Leaders, amongst others who graced the occasion.
