Ikenne State Assembly PDP Candidate, Owodunni Withdraw From Race




...Declare Support For Sobukonla, Governor Abiodun Re-election 



The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate for Ikenne State Constituency in the forthcoming State Governorship and House of Assembly elections, Hon. Babajide Owodunni has withdrawn from the race.

Our correspondent gathered that Hon. Owodunni left the party to join the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in supporting of the re-election of the Prince Dapo Abiodun and other APC candidates in the election.

In his withdrawal letter tagged "LETTER OF VOLUNTARY WITHDRAWAL OF CANDIDATE" signed on 6th of Match 2023, Hon. Owodunni hinted that his withdrawal was as a result of the frustration given to him by the PDP leaders and the Gubernatorial candidate after his emergence as the PDP Assembly Candidate at the primary Election.


According to the letter which read in parts "I, Owodunni Babajide, male, Yoruba and Nigeria citizen, residing in Ikenne Local Government, Ogun State. I hereby voluntarily withdraw my candidacy from the contest scheduled to hold on 11th of March,2023."

"My withdrawal was as a result of the frustration given to me by the PDP leaders and the Gubernatorial candidate after my emergence as the PDP Assembly Candidate at the primary Election."

"That due to the fact above, I hereby willingly withdraw my Candidate as the PDP Candidate for Ikenne State Constituency, Ogun State", he concluded. 

Owodunni who withdrew from the race promised to work for the re-election of Dapo Abiodun and other APC candidates in the Saturday 11th March, 2023 elections.
