MAJEKODUNMI URGES RESIDENTS TO KEEP A CLEAN, SAFE ENVIRONMENT

As part of promoting a clean, safe, and healthy environment, The Executive Chairman, Abeokuta South Local Government Ake, Hon. Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi has entreated the dwellers of the Local Government Area to clear their drainage channel and clean their premises/surrounding to avoid breaking out of unforeseen epidemics in the environment.

Hon. Majekodunmi made this known while observing the weekly environmental sanitation, he stressed that the dwellers should maintain a cleaner environment, and urged them to always bag their waste for easy collection by the waste managers assigned to their Areas.

The Executive Chairman added that in case the dwellers could not access the waste collection vehicles; they should alternatively make use of the medium yellow iron waste bins placed in strategic areas within the Local Government, instead of dumping waste on road medians and roadsides.

He however thanked Ogun State Government under the leadership of Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun MFR for providing iron waste bins to be accessed in the traditional Areas in the state.

In her words, one of the personnel who is saddled with the responsibility in the LG to police maintenance of public order, Sanitarian Titilayo Bankole stated that today's weekly sanitation exercise was 80 percent compliant.
