As the world prepares to celebrate the Christmas which signifies a period of giving, the Executive Chairman, Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina Lanre has put smiles on the faces of his members of staff as he gave them Christmas bonus.
The Christmas bonus which cut across all cadres of Staff of the Local Government, is believed will spur them to put in their best in the discharge of their statutory duties and relief them of their expenses in celebrating the birth of Christ at this important season.
The Council boss, who at the same time congratulated Christians as they celebrate Christmas, also urged the workers and residents in the Council Area to imbibe Christ’s love. He also appealed to residents of the Local Government to exhibit the traits of love, faithfulness and sacrifice which Jesus Christ preached. “I thank God for sparing our lives to witness this year’s Christmas season", said Amb. Ogunsola.
Reacting to the gesture of the Chairman, the workers expressed their appreciation to the Council boss for demonstrating the spirit of giving, especially at this yuletide period. According to them, it is a testimony that the Council Chairman, Ambassador Ogunsola has the interest of the workers at heart as well as their welfare.
The Branch Chairman, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Comrade Victor Oluwaseyi saluted the gesture of the Council Boss extended towards delighting the members of staff in the spirit of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, he however, assured the Council Boss of the Employees' unalloyed support throughout his tenure of office.
In his statement, Mr. Fatai Ogundele, the Head of Local Government Administration, Obafemi Owode Local Government, lauded the Council Boss for the Christmas bonus. He also commended him for various developmental strides that has added to the quality of life of the people at the grassroot.
He further urged him to keep the flag flying and never relent on his efforts in bringing the Local Government to an enviable position among the comity of Local Governments in Nigeria and the World at large.
