ASLG Holds Christmas Carol To Express Gratitude To God

…As The Council Chairman urges members of staff to be more diligent

Abeokuta South  Local Government, Ake in Ogun State State held her Christmas Carol on Wednesday 14th December 2022 to express gratitude to God for the peace in the Local Government Area; while the Executive Chairman, Hon. Omolaja Ayodele Majekodunmi JP urged members of staff to be more diligent at work.

The event which was held at the Local Government Area headquarters in Ake attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, clerics, and people of the LGA.

Melodious Christmas Hymns and special songs were ministered by the Council Choir, who also led the congregation in high praise and worship as well as a special feature by Evangelist Titi Esan.

In his opening remarks, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Majekodunmi JP said that the event was to praise God for the accomplishments made by the council and for peace in the Council Area. He appreciated members of staff for their resilience and dedication to duty in the outgoing year, admonishing them to keep up the good work in 2023.

The first Bible reading was read by the Chief Host, Hon Omolaja Majekodunmi, which was taken from the book of Matthew Chapter 1 beginning from verses 18 to 25.

Delivering a sermon on the theme of the event, “ For unto us A Child is Born, unto us, A Son is given” observed by very Rev. Dr. Solomon Olusola Obaleye, said it was God’s mercy that preserved the members of staff in all their operations throughout the year 2022.

Other dignitaries in the awesome celebration of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ were: 

The Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, Ms. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, accompanied by The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Oluwaseun Adeolu Olufowobi, Director of  Management Services; Mr. Babatunde Owolabi, The Director of Promotion, Posting & Transfer; Mrs. Omotayo Taiwo Akintomide, The Director, Appointment, Discipline & Pensions; Mr. Jimoh Safiriyu, the Kabiyesi, Olubara of Ibara Land Oba (Dr.) Joseph Omolade who was ably represented by Chief Amusan Abiodun; the Akingbogun Ibara Land and Chief (Mrs) Olakemi Idowu; Seriki Iyalaje Olubara, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Adenekan Kazeem, other Councilors in the LG, Supervisors, Special Advisers, Consultants, the Head of the Local Government Administration, Mr. Wole Adeosun, Directors in the Local Government as well as Heads of the Departments.
