IFAD Visits OOLG, SPURS YOUTHS ON AGRICULTURE AS BUSINESS

The International Fund for Agricultural Development( IFAD) team on Thursday paid an inspection visit to the value chain development programme in Obafemi Owode local government .

Speaking at the programme, Amb. Ogunsola Adesina Lanre, the Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government ably represented by his Vice, Hon. Titus Olusesi Babatunde, expressed his satisfaction on the productivity of the IFAD value chain development programme. 
He therefore requested for the sustainability and possible expansion of the program to other areas of farming in the council area.

Earlier, Mr. Dede Ekwe, Country Director, International Fund for Agricultural Development commended the local government for the supports given the youth to showcase their agricultural architecture in taking up the program as business.
He therefore recommended the local government as the best in terms of performance and encouragement recorded so far.

Amongst the entourage of the IFAD team were, representatives from the federal ministry of finance, federal ministry of agriculture and National coordinator, value chain development programme and Director, Agriculture and natural resources department, Obafemi Owode local government, Mr. Alebiosu Olukayode.
