Ahead of the Ogun East All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial primary election scheduled for Saturday 28th of May, 2022, the stakeholders from the nine local government areas of the district and the two paramount rulers, Awujale and Akarigbo have all agreed to cede the senatorial ticket to the Ijebu axis in order to ensure equity and fairness.
The agreement which was reached overnight is premised on the fact that both positions of the governor and senate cannot come from Remo axis. Since the governor is from Remo, the Senator should come from Ijebu axis.
It was gathered that the governor has been briefed and he's fully in support of the agreement reached by the stakeholders and the two paramount rulers who are highly revered by the governor.
To this end, the Ogun East APC Senatorial contest has been streamlined to favour the incumbent senator, Lekan Mustapha at today's primary election.
