OOLG HOSTS PARTICIPANTS OF THE SENIOR EXECUTIVE COURSE 44 ,NIPSS, KURU

The Executive Chairman Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina  On Tuesday  received a delegation from the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies ( NIPSS) kuru, Jos who was on an official visit to the Local government 

Receiving the delegation on behalf of the council boss ,the vice chairman of the Local government,Hon. Olusesi  who gave the historical background  of the Local government .

While highlighting the  major  occupation of the people of the local government,Hon. Olusesi  stated that ,Production  of Ofada  rice is the major notable occupation in the council area  saying that  people in diaspora  and Nigerians as a whole are coming to ofada  town in Obafemi owode local government area to buy the rice.

He further appeal to the Federal Government to invest and provide modern agricultural equipments  to Farmers in order to boost the production of Ofada Rice in commercial quantity not only for local consumption but also export purposes, as it is medically proven and recommended for people with diabetes ailments, coupled with its nutritious value.
 
He then appealed to government to help build up the security network of the local government and its environs saying that the local government are experiencing  many challenges such as kidnapping, Drug Abuse, Cultism and other social vices due to influx of immigrants from Lagos and Ibadan.

" In the recent time,the menace of kidnapping in the local government area, particularly in Ogunmakin and Owode axis of the council area has been reduced with the help of military surveillance while applauding  the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR  for his timely intervention.

He then appealed to both the federal and State government to provide  more job opportunities  for the youths in order to reduce the crime rate and other misconducts in the society.

While responding to questions from the participants, Hon. Olusesi  highlighted some of the achievements of Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina led administration since assumption of office in Obafemi owode local government as this administration has played proactive roles in the areas of bringing many infrastructures  to the council area such as provision of good health care facilities, grading of roads both in the urban and rural areas,renovations of public primary schools and changing the face of the  local government secretariat complex to a befitting look and many others .

He enjoined the government's to grant  full Autonomy to the Local Government so as to enhance in delivery of good governance at the grassroot and boost the internally generated capacity which inturn will bring fulfillment of dividend of democracy to the people and massive development to the council area.

He later presented souvenir to the visitors on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Amb. Ogunsola Adesina Lanre.

In his own response , the leader of the team,Brigd. Gen. Wowo  Nasiru, mni, appreciates the Council boss and his team for  the civic reception despite the short notice of their coming .

Brig. Gen. Nasiru then stated that ,their visit is to get information on the challenges being faced by the local government in Ogun state and look for lasting solutions to these challenges and the opportunities available in the Local government in Ogun state.

Brigd. Gen. Nasiru thereafter presented a plaque to Hon.Olusesi and was received on behalf of the local government Chairman.

Some of the Political functionaries present  at the event were, Hon. Babatunde Ayinde, Councillor representing Owode ward, Mrs. Foluke Oluwadare, Supervisor for Information, Education and Sports, Hon. Alhaja  Akintayo Risikat, Supervisor for Women Affairs and Community Development,  Mr. Gbenga Shofidiya, Special Adviser on Security and Inter-governmental Affairs.
Attendance also includes, Mr. Ogundele Fatai, Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Ekemode Ebenezer, Director, Finance and Supplies, Mrs G.A. Adeyemi,Director WES,Prince Segun Soneye Director, Information, Education and Sports, Mrs. Adeyemo Jumai, Director, Community Development and Social Welfare,  Mr. Alebiosu Olukayode, Director, Agriculture and Natural Resources,Mr.F.O.Ogunjobi,Director Planning,among others.
