NNPP Stakeholders Holds Closed-Door Meeting With Obasanjo




 

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has prayed for the participation of more youths in the political system of Nigeria. 

The former president stressed that the involvement of youths in Nigeria politics would save the country from total collapse. 

The former president said this during a close-door meeting held with the New Nigeria People's Party stakeholders in the state led by party's state chairman, Comrade Olaposi Oginni. 

At the meeting were the NNPP governorship hopeful, Olujobi Fayoyin, alongside Alhaji Wasiu Adebanjo, and Olufemi Ajadi who are the Ogun East and Central Senatorial aspirants respectively. 

Speaking with the NNPP's leaders, the former president noted that the youths need to dislodge older generation from leadership positions.

Obasanjo stressed that the youths need to participate actively in the activities of political parties with a view to taking over the structure from them.

He further emphasised that unless old people are forced out of the political stage, they will continue to occupy the leadership positions to the detriment of the youths

The former president however commended the zeal of the aspirants for having the intention of rescuing the country from the grip of the old generation. 

He also prayed for them and wish them success in their political journey. 

In his remarks, the NNPP Chairman expressed readiness of the party to send out ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2023 election. 

Oginni explained that the party is mobilizing people who believe in the possibility of new Nigeria from different parts of the state. 

He noted that the party is the third force the country need to change the narrative from "business as usual". 

Also Present are the NNPP's National Auditor, Barrister Ladipo Johnson, and the Lagos State Chairman of NNPP, Chief Falade.
