EID-EL-FITR: HON. ADIJAT TASKS NIGERIANS TO SHUN DIVISIVE MECHANISMS, PROMOTE UNITY, LOVE

AS Nigerians join the rest of the world to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, a frontline aspirant in Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, Hon. Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo has appealed to the people to shun divisive tendencies; admonishing them to continue promoting peace, tranquility and progress with prayers for economic emancipation of the country.

Adeleye, a former two-term lawmaker and Special Adviser in a statement congratulating Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, stated that it is hightime everyone put behind religious, ethnic and political divides; thus forging ahead in deeds that would strengthen peaceful co-existence, which would in turn leads to even transformation for all.

She stressed that, "Individually and collectively, we must embrace the tenets of peaceful co-existence as the catalyst for the socio-economic development of Nigeria. Islam advocates tolerance, peace and mutual respect amongst members of every community, irrespective of ethnic, political or religious differences"

Urging Islamic adherents to make the lessons learnt during the holy month as their life-time habit, the House of Representative hopeful counseled them to uphold its tenets including peace, love and perseverance; likewise
the Holy Prophet’s teachings of piety, justice, fairness, equity, tolerance, honesty and
peaceful co-existence with others for the greater glory of their immediate community and our dear nation.

"This is a time to be thoughtful of your needy neighbours by giving freely from what God has blessed you with in the spirit of one for all, all for one. We must imbibe the great lessons of Ramadan, which connotes selflessness, endurance, sacrifice, piety, generosity and total obedience to Allah (SWT)”
