As part of his electioneering campaign promises to the people of Abeokuta North Local Government, with an adage that says "Promise made, promise kept, Hon. Olumide Osoba, a member of Federal House of Representatives, Abuja representing, Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode and Odeda Local Government Federal Constituency, on Monday 4th April, 2022 donated a brand new 500KVA Transformer to Abeokuta North Local Government Secretariat in a bid to alleviate the sufferings of over some years that the people living in and around the area have been subjected to since their transformer got spoilt.
The handing over exercise which took place inside the Council's Secretariat recently attested to the fact that, the staff and inhabitants of the area were full of joy and praises to the Donor who removed them from total darkness of years.
In his delivery message, Hon. Olumide who was represented by Mr Oluwaseun Akinpelu, one of his Legislative Assistants said the motive behind the gift is to enhance smooth service delivery as well as creating a conducive atmosphere for the Staff, Political Functionaries and the inhabitants within the Council Area.
He further, stated that Hon. Osoba would have loved to come personally but couldn't due to other National Assignments.
Mr Akinpelu then stressed that this move is a light up initiative organised with the support of Hon. Osoba to bring succour to the Constituencies covered by him and the grassroots at large.
The Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kabiru Odusiji, while receiving the transformer on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Prince Ayorinde Adebayo, appreciated Hon. Olumide Osoba, for his affection and care shown towards the local government and its people. He stressed further that, the transformer will serve as a morale booster among the Staff, Political Functionaries and entire populace in the environs.
Present at the ceremony includes; members of the Legislative Arm, led by Hon. Sanni Sikiru Tunde, the Leader of the House, Hon. Kabir Ayoola, Supervisor for Works and Housing, other Political Functionaries, Mr Babatunde Owolabi the Head of Local Government Administration, Engineer Junaid Saheed, Head of Works and Housing, Mrs. Olalekan Olasunkanmi, Head of Information, Education, and Sports, and other Heads of Department.
