OBAFEMI OWODE COUNCIL BOSS PROMISES SUPPORT TO VALUE CHAIN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ambassador. Hon. Ogunsola Adesina Lanre has said the local government will continue to support individuals and groups that will add value to the well being of his people while assuring that the local government will provide a level playing ground to all investors.


Ambassador Ogunsola said this while receiving a team of a prudent farmers association named; Value Chain Development Programme, Ogun State Chapter in his office at Owode Egba, in Obafemi Owode Local Government area of the State.

Ambassador Ogunsola while receiving the association in his office at Owode Egba promised his full support to the Association, stating that the programme will be of great influence to the  Council area at large.

He also thanked the association for bringing such a viable programme to Obafemi Owode Local Government being an agricultural programme that can transform the lives of the youths and farmers.


In his response, the state Co-ordinator for the Association, Mr Samuel Adeogun eulogies the council boss, Hon. Ogunsola for his unflinching support  to the farmers within the Local Government Area.

Speaking on the programme of the Association, Mr Adeogun, stressed that the programme will benefit the youths, farmers and the people in the grassroot within the Local Council area.

The co-ordinator added that two Gari factories has been established in Obafemi Owode Local Government with one at Alapako and the other at Bara village.

He also noted that the Association also have acquired 80 heacters of land which was mainly for cassava in addition with rice plantation.

Mr Adeogun also emphasised that solar power boreholes as well as market stores has been mounted at Mokoloki and other parts of Obafemi Owode Local Government area.

The secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Kayode Dipeolu, in his remark thanked the Association for putting Obafemi Owode Local Government in mind, while stating that the programme will stand to reduce unemployment among the youths in the Local Government area as well as the farmers more .

Hon. Dipeolu on behalf of Ambassador Ogunsola led Administration also pledges their full support to the Association, bearing in mind to involve the Local Government in terms of any assistance.

Others at the gathering includes; the consultant on Agricultural and Natural Resources, Hon. Idowu Fasanya, Mr Kayode Alebiosu, Director, Agricultural and Natural Resources and others members of the Association.
