IFO LOCAL GOVERNMENT TRAINS STAFF ON REVENUE GENERATION

The management of Finance and Supply Department in Ifo Local Government has trained its staff on the need to improve the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the Council Area in line with the directives of the Local Government Service Commission to adopt the system in order to improve service delivery among the Local Government staff members.

Declaring the programme which was held recently at the Conference Room of the Council open, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mrs Taiwo Akintomide appreciated the efforts of the Head of Finance and Supply Department, Alhaji Wasiu Babatunde Junaid FCA for organizing the training in order to have a crop of well trained officers for the collection of rates, levies and dues to the coffers of the council. She urged the staff of the department to listen attentively and allow for positive impact of the training on the financial system of the Local Government. She also assured them of the readiness of the Local Government to cooperate with staff on the issues bothering on staff welfare. 
The Director, Finance and Supply Department, Alhaji Wasiu Babatunde Junaid FCA delivered the first lecture titled; Basic Accounting Principles while the Chief Executive Officer (Account) in the Local Government, Mrs. Oyenuga Tinuola took the second lecture titled; Basic Principles of I.G.R in the Local Government. Both facilitators used the period to expose the staff to the nitty gritty of financial system especially, on internally revenue generation (IGR) at the grassroots level. Alhaji Junaid however, noted that, the revenue staff needed to be strategic in their tactics in order to be productive at work.

The training was well attended by the Staff of the department including Mrs Titilayo Ademuyiwa, the Internal Auditor, Accountants, Rate officers, Store officers among others.
