"SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN IFO L.G" HON. DELANO ASSURES PEOPLE DURING PRESENTATION OF 2022 PROPOSED BUDGET TO THE HOUSE

The Executive Chairman, Ifo Local Government, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Kikelomo Aridunun Delano has presented a total sum of Three Billion, Eight Hundred and Forty Seven Million, Four Hundred and Ninety Five Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Six Naira and Seven Kobo  (N3, 847,495,756.07) as the 2022 proposed budget estimate to the Legislative Council for approval.

The Chairman, speaking at the presentation of the budget held on Tuesday 16th March, 2022 at the plenary session of the Legislative Council at the local Government secretariat noted that the budget proposal  is tagged "Budget of Sustainable Development". According to her, the proposal is 10 percent bigger than the revised budget of 2021, and focuses on 
various capital projects which will affect the lives of the people positively in both the rural and urban areas of the council. 
Hon. Delano stressed further that, within few months that her administration came into power and in view of paucity of funds, the administration was still able to carry out grading of earth roads across the various wards in the Local Government, sinking of Borehole with stanchion and generator at Okenla in Ifo, repair of the Local Government Grader and the revenue bus, turning of the sod for  Ifo Local Government Event Hall at the Secretariat, completion of rehabilitation of a block of 3 classrooms at Akinsinde and Community level training needs for Insecticidal Treated Net mass campaign personnel.

She pointed out that, the projected overall revenue is put at  Three Billion, Eight Hundred and Forty Seven Million, Four Hundred and Ninety Five Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Six Naira and Seven Kobo (N3,847,495,756.07) while the total expenditure for this year is put at the same figure making it to be "a balanced one".

A breakdown of the budget revealed that a sum of Three Hundred and Forty Two Million, Six Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N342,650, 000.00) will be spent on capital projects while a sum of Three Billion, Five Hundred and Four Million, Eight Hundred and Forty Five Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Six Naira, Seven Kobo (N3,504,845,756.07) will be spent on recurrent expenditure including salaries and overhead costs for Primary School Teachers, Local Government staff and the Traditional Council. 

Hon. Delano however, used the opportunity to appreciate the State Governor, His Excellency, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun MFR, for the unflinching support her government has been enjoying, opportunity given them to serve in their capacities as well as various advice since the assumption of office. 

She also thanked the Honorable members of the House for their cooperation, support and suggestions towards taking the Council Area to an enviable height since the administration came on board. "I am indeed grateful and I hope this will continue in the current financial year. I want to appeal as well that this House will give a speedy passage and approval to the proposed budget being presented today.” 

In his speech the Leader of the house, Hon. Adeleye Olanrewaju expressed his joy for the presentation of the Chairman while assuring of a proper legislative work on the proposed budget and give it a speedy passage to give room for the much needed sustainable development as being proposed by the executive.
In attendance were, Hon. Ganiyu Oyedeji representing Ifo ll State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Oladapo Adebesin, Vice Chairman, Hon. Kushimo Idris Olalekan Secretary to the L.G, Mrs. Taiwo Akintomide, Head of Local Government Administration, Supervisors, Special Advisers, Consultants, Directors/Heads of Department cum Unit Heads amongst many others.
