The Executive Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Adebayo Ayorinde has Inaugurated the Executive arm of the local government at the secretariat in Akomoje.
During the swearing- in ceremony of the political office holders, Prince Ayorinde eulogized the Executive Governor of Ogun State,His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, for the opportunity given him to constitute the Executive arm of his Administration which comprises the SLG, Supervisors, Consultants and Advisers.
The Council boss noted that the Governor has constantly shown affection for the good people of the local government and the State at large.
He further congratulated and welcomed the new appointees on board the moving train of governance of the local government.
In his welcome speech, Adebayo assured all that his government remains undaunted and resolute in a bid to abridge the yawning gap in the welfare of all and sundry in Abeokuta North Local Government.
Without mincingwords,he noted that the appointments were rare privileges which require commitment, cooperation, efficiency and loyalty to the administration.
He thereafter adviced the appointees to prove themselves worthy as good Ambassadors of the people they represent.He emphasized the need for the synergy that would foster unity and bring the necessary development to the Council area.
He further solicited for the support of the leaders and stakeholders as well meaning individuals of the local government origin in order to conquer all challenges facing the administration.
He however seized the opportunity to appeal to the miscreants who promote distruptive tendencies by intimidating the Council staff and Political functionaries in the discharge of their duties to desist from such act or face the wrath of the law.
Afterwards, the appointees took turns to take the Oath of Allegiance as conducted by the Director of General services and Administration, Barrister Abiodun Edun.
Goodwill messages were presented by party stalwarts: Alhaji Fatai Bodunrin, the first Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Engr. Seni Ayorinde and Alhaja Faidat Akintunde, Chairman, APC, Abeokuta North Local Government. The speakers in the same vein, solicited for the support and cooperation between the two arms of government: the Executive and Legislative.
They were advised to work hand in hand to ensure a smooth administration which will foster peace and unity in order to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the Council area.
The Secretary to the Local Government, Mr Kabiru Odusiji on behalf of the appointees appreciated the Chairman and the Leaders for the opportunity given to serve the people of the local government.
