IJEBU FORUM HONOURS RETIREES

The Forum of Ijebu Indigenes in the Ogun State Local Government Service has honoured  eminent Ijebu indigenes, and notable Ijebu sons and daughters who have served actively and meritoriously, and retired from the service.                              

Alhaji Toyin Ashiru, Chairman of the forum, while speaking at the event on Sunday, appreciated every member of the forum for the opportunity to paddle the canoe of the forum and he assured them of a leadership that will immensely benefit all Ijebus.                   

The Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Ogun State, Dr. Adeolu Olufowobi, who is also the immediate-past Chairman of the forum, thanked God for the life of the retirees before and after their active service. He enjoined them to always advance their lives especially their health.  
Speaking further, he appreciated Dr. Bola Aromiwura, for the roles he played in ensuring his emergence as the Permanent Secretary.          

He then clamoured for unity, peace and focus among Ijebus in the service. He also appealed to the forum to adopt Barrister Olubukuonla Onabanjo as the Grandmatron of the forum.                                           

Also speaking at the event, Dr. Bola Aromiwura, a retired Head of Local Government Administration, implored the Ijebus who are in the service to be diligent in the discharge their duties, and also remember God in everything they do. 
He also encourage them to be active in the forum financially and morally.            

Alhaji Olatunde Rufai, the Commissioner IV at the Local Government Service Commission, in his contribution, charged  the retirees to take every precautionary measures available for their sound health. He also pledged his support for the Chairman of the Commission,                          Barrister Olubukunola Onabanjo.

In her address, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, Barr. Onabanjo, appreciated the Governor of Ogun State, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, for the opportunity given to her to serve as the Chairman of the commission. 
She also prayed for good health for the senior citizens who are honoured by the forum. "Having an Ijebu as the Chairman and Permanent Secretary of the commission is a double and great honour", said the Chairman.

She encouraged members to always be steadfast in discharging   their  primary duties and also comply strictly with staff regulations by avoiding issues that may warrant query from the commission, like absenteeism, lateness, and insurbordination to their superiors.                   

The event held at the Millennium Hall, Ijebu Ode Local Government secretariat, 12th Dec 2021, had in attendance, the following retirees who are members of the forum:
Engr. Alli Oke; Engr. Kehinde Oyedele; Alhaji Olugbenga Olugbile;  Mr. Fowokan Kehinde; Mr Bosun Onanuga; Alhaja Abiola Kuku; and  Mrs. Dina Afolake.

Also in attendance were the National President of NULGE, Comrade Akeem Ambali; Director, Manpower Development and Training, Local Government Service Commission, Ogun State, Alhaji Onagbenga Onayemi; and Head of Local Government Administration, Ijebu North Local Government, Ijebu Igbo, Mr. Philip Ogunpitan.
