HON. KIKELOMO URGES RESIDENTS TO LIVE IN PEACE, HARMONY

A call has gone out to the people of Ifo Local Government particularly, residents of Ifo Constituency 1 to embrace peace and harmony necessary for socio economic development and growth of the area in particular and the Local Government in general.

This was observed by the Executive Chairman, Ifo Local Government, Hon. Kikelomo DELANO at a stakeholders meeting on security recently held at the Conference Room of the Local Government Secretariat.
The Chairman, while addressing representatives of various unions and associations including: Parks and Garages Management Agency; RTEAN, ACCOMORAN; AMORAN; TORAN; TWORA; ROMO; ROTO and all security formations in the area revealed that the meeting has become crucial and appropriate as a result of cases of violent crimes against lives and properties of innocent residents of the area. Hence, the Council boss pleaded for thruthful and honest contributions from stakeholders at the meeting in order to find enduring solutions to upsurge in crime rate in the area.

The acting Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Wole Adeosun earlier informed that the inclusion of these unions and associations was premised on the fact that their membership comprise the majority of the youths  in the area and further stressed that similar meetings have been outlined for other opinion leaders in the society.

At the end of the meeting, the Chairman, Hon Kikelomo thanked everyone and appreciated the quality of contributions made by the leadership of those unions and associations which she aggregated to include: proper profiling of members of unions; improving sporting activities in order to engage the youths; closing of ranks by political leaders; organization and revamping the vigilante groups to essentially include the youths in their community; engaging tasking community leaders to promptly profile strangers in their community;  introduction of some IGR to engage jobless youths;  introduction of youths empowerment programs and political will and support for information relating to crimes.
The Vice Chairman Ifo LG, Hon. Dapo Adebesin, while thanking the attendees for the success of the meeting, he therefore charged all attendees at the meeting to see the war against insecurity as a onerous task before everyone which requires that all hands must be on deck in order to achieve the desired results.
