The Executive Chairman, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Alhaji Babatunde Emilola GAZAL, has stated the need for a collective will and decision to rid our society, particularly, our local government area and Ogun State of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Chairman stated this in an address he delivered today at the distribution of COVID-19 preventive
materials to the various government health facilities in the local government area.
He described the task of preventing the dreaded and viral disease as an issue for all and sundry.
Alhaji GAZAL, at the event held at the Millennium Hall of the council secretariat, said despite the first phase of COVID-19 Vaccination among frontline health workers in the local governments, Ijebu Ode inclusive; other phase of the vaccination are still being awaited.
"However, it must be realized that the vaccination doesn't stop us from preventing ourselves and others, and as a responsible government, we will not toy with the health of our people, hence our resolve to give out this COVID-19 prevention to all the health facilities, for the prevention of our health workers", he added.
He also appreciate the strong support and efforts of the indefatigable and ever resilient Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, for making the safety of health workers a priority, because health is wealth.
In the same vein, the Chairman has advised beneficiaries of the federal government's Conditional Grant Scheme to utilise the funds collected judiciously.
He gave the advice at the opening of the Entrepreneurship Development Training organised by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), for the beneficiaries of the grant, held at the local government Secretariat, Itoro, Ijebu Ode.
