The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II is set to honour deserving Yoruba sons and daughters including popular Ogun state born OAP and writer, Ayoade Elegbede at the 3rd Omoluabi Day Festival and Awards tagged Isokan Yoruba 2021.
At the grand finale slated for Saturday May 1, 2021 at the royal palace, Ayoade Elegbede is to bag the "Omoluabi Pataki Oodua Award" for his Omoluabi true and distinct identity which he has always epitomized in personal and official capacity.
Also expected at the event are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila; both distinguish guests of honour, Former president Olusegun Obasanjo and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; both fathers of the day, traditional rulers from across Yoruba land, Governors of south west states including Edo, delta and Kogi states.
During the ceremony, issues centered around the unity, oneness and progress of Yoruba land will take a center stage with participants channeling a road mark for the development of Yoruba land.
Elegbede Irebami Ayoade is an On Air Personality, a writer, mentor and an activist spanning over 8 years of cognate experience. He is the founder and CEO of OgunUpdate Online Newspaper; a hub for accurate news reports, the brain behind Advocacy for Defence of Human Rights in Nigeria, AIE foundation and several other projects.
He has managed, coordinated and led several top notch projects in fighting for the rights of Persons Living With Disability as well as young boys and girls carving a niche for myself in the Human Rights Activism with special interest for out of school children, physically challenged individuals, elderly and others whose rights are usually trampled on.
His three books namely, Morning Sun, Smiles of Sorrow and Diary of Events in Nigeria centers on the Nation as a whole. While seeking to preserve our history in the latter, the first two serves as the voice of the common man.
Other awardees include three time governorship candidate in Ogun state, Prince Gboyega Isiaka, Rep. Hon Isiaka Ibrahim, Member of Nigeria's House of Representatives ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency and Prof. Lateef Sanni, Deputy Vice Chancellor, FUNAAB.
Also at the event, Yeye Oluwakemi Soyebi sill be decorated as the Global Vice President, Yoruba Council of Women Worldwide.
