Member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State Hon. Segun Kaka has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Hon. Kaka who is one of the loyalists of the late Buruji Kashamu hinted that his defection was due to his loyalty to his late leader 'Kashamu' and the good work of Governor Dapo Abiodun in the state.
He disclosed this to journalists in Ago Iwoye, Ijebu North of the state.
According to him“I saw the reality of governance through the administration of Dapo Abiodun. I have seen his economic plans and development across the state.
“His excellency is not a noise maker but working assiduously to turn Ogun state to an enviable state in Nigeria. I discovered that before my late mentor, Senator Buruji Kashamu could align with Dapo Abiodun when he came into power as the Governor, he knew he is the right leader that’s why he submitted my name to him for recognition on appointment”
“What I do today is according to the wish of of my mentor Senator Buruji Kashamu”
Kaka shed more light on who Kashamu was in his life time “I have not seen a benevolent giver like Kashamu, he is a phylantrophist, he sent me to give a patient suffering from kidney decease, a sum of 12 million naira to get another kidney. Who among our so called rich men nor politicians will do that? All I do today is according to the direction of his compass”
The Ogun state commissioner for youths and sports, Hon. Dare Kehinde who was there as a friend of Hon. Segun Kaka said he was delighted to see the caliber of people present at the occasion, it shows that the former deputy Governor, Prince Segun Adesegun has played a great fatherly role in politics which transcended to what we witnessed today.
The Assistant Secretary of APC caretaker committee in Ogun state Bode Adesegun who was at the occasion representing the state excos said “Segun Kaka is an asset the party because we know him as a strong grassroots politician, a great mobilizer who we generously welcome to our party. We believed all we heard he did in his former party will be replicated in our great party and even do more”
Some of the elders, Jayeola Abdul Yekini, Omobolanle Olatunji and Solomon Oduyemi at the meeting showed their pleasures in welcoming Hon. Segun Kaka saying that winning election henceforth in their domain is stress free.
